Tiny Ways Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026. This policy covers the Tiny Ways game for iPhone, iPad and Android.
In short: Tiny Ways has no player accounts or sign-in. Your puzzle progress stays on your device. Google Mobile Ads and its consent service process information to deliver and measure advertising. Advertising and Google consent requests do not start for under-18 or unknown-age players. An optional No Ads purchase is handled by Apple or Google.
1. Who we are
Tiny Ways is made by Every Bit Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17452895), registered office 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom. Every Bit Ltd is the controller under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact: hello@everybit.ltd.
2. What stays on your device
Tiny Ways saves the following only on your device. None of it is sent to us.
- Your game progress: levels completed, stars, scores, Drops and which way to play you chose.
- Your settings, such as sound, music, haptics and motion.
- A protected or adult privacy group. On first launch the game asks for a birth year, but never saves the year itself. Everyone under 18, including anyone turning 18 in the current year, receives protected settings.
- Small counters that space out ads (for example, how many were shown today), so ads never appear too often.
We do not operate cloud sync or receive your puzzle progress. Android backup and device-transfer exclusions are configured for app information. Apple system backups may include local saves. Removing the app removes ordinary local app files, but store records and platform-protected storage have separate lifecycles. Apple Keychain information may survive reinstallation.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Tiny Ways shows two kinds of ads, both from Google AdMob:
- Optional videos: you can choose to watch a short video for a free hint or to double the Drops from a level. They never play unless you tap to watch.
- Occasional full-screen ads between levels, after you tap "Next level". They never appear during a puzzle.
To show, limit and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google's Mobile Ads software in the app collects information from your device and sends it to Google. This can include:
- Your IP address, and an approximate location worked out from it (country or city level, never precise location): for ads suitable for your country, legal compliance and fraud prevention.
- Device and app details such as device model, operating system, language, app version and network type: so ads work on your device, for measurement and fraud prevention.
- Ad interactions (which ads were shown, watched, tapped or skipped): for measurement, frequency limits, and rewarding you for videos you chose to watch.
- Your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone and iPad, Advertising ID on Android), only where you have allowed it: for personalised ads and ad measurement across apps.
- Diagnostics and applicable identifiers, including SDK performance/reliability information and identifiers such as app set ID where applicable. Non-personalised ads still involve data processing. Publisher first-party advertising identifiers are disabled before ad requests for all players.
Every Bit does not receive a copy of these advertising records. Third-party processing still occurs through the app. Google handles it under its own policies: How Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
Your choices about ads
- UK, European Economic Area and Switzerland: adults receive the regional choices offered by Google's consent tool, including sale/sharing opt-out choices in supported US states. Where required, you can reopen Privacy options in Settings on the theme-selection screen.
- iPhone and iPad: adults may see Apple's "Allow tracking?" question. Tracking requires your system permission. You can change this in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your device's settings (usually Settings → Privacy → Ads).
- Either way, the game plays exactly the same.
4. Children
Tiny Ways is made for everyone, including children. Everyone under 18, including anyone turning 18 in the current year, receives protective settings. Unknown ages also receive no advertising. For protected players we:
- do not gather Google ad consent, initialise Google Mobile Ads or request rewarded or full-screen advertising;
- never show Apple's tracking question;
- keep normal gameplay available without buying an ad-removal product. Existing purchases and their extra bonuses remain available.
We do not receive children's puzzle progress or save birth years. The advertising data flow described above applies to eligible adults. Purchases use an explicit action and the native store confirmation, with platform parental purchase controls where configured. These controls do not establish parental consent for data processing. Parents and guardians can contact us about a child's privacy at hello@everybit.ltd.
5. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
- Consent: personalised ads, and storing or reading information on your device for advertising where consent is required.
- Legitimate interests: supporting a free game, limiting ad frequency and preventing fraud and abuse, where applicable and after considering users' rights and children's interests. This does not replace consent where the law requires it for storing or accessing information on a device.
6. Sharing and international transfers
We don't sell your information, and we don't share any information with anyone other than as described above. Google may process advertising information outside the UK, including in the United States. Google uses approved safeguards for this, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long information is kept
Ordinary local app files remain until removed with the app; system backups, Keychain information and store purchase records can persist separately. Google retains advertising information under its own policy. Every Bit does not hold a separate copy of your puzzle progress or advertising-provider records.
8. Your rights
You have rights to access, correct and delete personal information, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact hello@everybit.ltd for help, including requests on behalf of a child. We may need enough information to identify a relevant record and verify your request. We cannot identify Google records from local puzzle progress. Google and platform privacy controls also apply to their processing. Uninstalling the app does not itself delete provider-held information. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
9. Purchases
No Ads is an optional permanent purchase, priced at £2.99 in the UK. The store displays the actual local price before purchase. Apple or Google handles payment and transaction records; Every Bit does not receive card details or operate a purchase-verification server. The app queries store ownership and keeps a platform-protected local cache for offline use. Restoration uses the same store account; ownership does not transfer between Apple and Google. Recognised ownership stops ad requests, but does not delete information already processed by providers.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app starts handling information differently, for example by adding optional analytics or crash reporting, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date before the change reaches the app. Anything that needs your consent will ask for it in the game.
